Applying the CrimeSolutions.gov/Model Programs Guide Evidence Standards to OJJDP’s Research Agenda

Sat, Nov 22, 8:00 to 9:20am, Marriott, Foothill E, 2nd Floor

Abstract

In 2000, OJJDP published a print version of the Model Programs Guide (MPG) as one of the first comprehensive resources to identify evidence-based programs in juvenile delinquency prevention. When the Department of Justice, Office of Justice Programs launched CrimeSolutions.gov in 2011, OJJDP began to integrate CrimeSolutions.gov’s evidence standards and criteria into its MPG. In 2013, OJJDP re-launched the Model Programs Guide to be fully aligned with CrimeSolutions.gov’s evidence standards and reestablished an office Research Unit to ensure OJJDP’s research is timely, comprehensive, and rigorous. OJJDP staff will discuss how the evidence standards and information in CrimeSolutions.gov and Model Programs Guide continue to influence its research agenda.
