Recidivism Rates Among Offenders Released from a Massachusetts Correctional Facility

Abstract

The present study explored the recidivism outcomes for a one-day population of 344 sentenced inmates at a Massachusetts state correctional facility in 2011. Re-conviction and re-incarceration were each assessed. Institutional misconduct was examined as a predictor of recidivism. Risk assessment and program participation were considered in models as well.
