Rethinking the Use of Evidence in Juvenile Justice Programming

Wed, Nov 19, 9:30 to 10:50am, Marriott, Salon 15, Lower B2 Level

Abstract

The Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP) is rethinking strategies around evidence-based programs and practices to better integrate implementation, dissemination, and diffusion research. In the Model Programs Guide, it is exploring implementation and dissemination resource enhancements that might promote adoption. Through several of its demonstration programs, it is supporting the development of system-reform and program-enhancement approaches that integrate a broader scope of evidence-based practices. OJJDP will discuss how it is exploring innovations, confronting challenges, and looking into the future to better support the diffusion of evidence-based approaches.
