The purpose of this presentation is to discuss Justice & Security Strategies, Inc. NIJ funded evaluation of the Los Angeles Police Department TEAMS II Early Intervention (EI) System. The TEAMS II EI system is arguably one of the most thorough in the country and can be considered to be a model EI system in many respects. This presentation will first introduce and discuss the TEAMS II system and how the system is used by the LAPD. After this, we will discuss in detail the multipronged research strategy we are using to evaluate the TEAMS II system. Finally, if available, we will share some preliminary findings from our evaluation.
