Using data from Fleisher and Krienert’s Ethno-Methodological Study of the Subculture of Prison Inmate Sexuality in the United States, 2004-2005, we examine the predictors of prison sexual abuse and rape. The self-reported variables in this study include various demographic characteristics, prison history, mental health, rape, domestic violence and relationships, social dynamics, institutional factors, and perceptions of social roles. We present summary statistics to better illuminate the characteristics of the prisoners, and logistic regression models to examine predictors of prison sexual abuse and rape.
