Arizona State University has articulated a vision to “establish ASU as a global center for interdisciplinary research, discovery, and development by 2020.” Indeed, criminologists have worked toward a more holistic understanding of crime and deviance by broadening the scope of our field, adopting diverse ideas, and collaborating with researchers outside the discipline. The purpose of the current study is to assess one way in which ASU’s School of Criminology and Criminal Justice faculty contributes to this goal by participating in interdisciplinary research. More specifically, the present study constructs a social network analysis of scholars and the journals in which they have published during their careers at ASU. The usefulness of network-analytic approaches in measuring complex social processes, as well as implications for the development of interdisciplinary research in criminology are discussed.
