Prior research regarding police notification decisions by victims of intimate partner violence has examined individual-level factors, such as income, education, and employment status. Additionally, other research has found a relationship between rates of intimate partner violence and community disadvantage. The purpose of this study is to assess whether neighborhood structural characteristics, in addition to individual-level factors, play a role in police notification decisions by victims of intimate partner violence.
