Computers and the Internet play a central role in modern society, and increasingly shape our daily life. However, these technological developments have contributed to the rise of new forms of crime, as well enabled offenders to commit “traditional” crimes in the virtual space. Interestingly, the 2008 Korean Crime Victimization Survey (KCVS) includes a set of questions about criminal behaviors committed with the use of a computer. Moreover, the survey includes several further questions about general internet behaviors. The study will provide an analysis of the survey in regards to (criminal) computer behaviors. Improvements in the KCVS questions used to uncover computer crimes will also be discussed.
