In 2013, DARE America implemented a new elementary school curriculum based on the evidence-based keepin’ it REAL program. The new curriculum places a greater emphasis on socio-emotional learning (SEL) and decision-making skills rather than drug information. This paper presents the results of a quasi-experimental short-term evaluation of the new program. Examining on-line survey data, it is the first evaluation of the program using comparison schools.
