The women’s movement has made significant strides, particularly in the past 100 years. To some extent, the progress made seems, on paper anyway, to have created equality between the sexes. Indeed, anecdotal evidence suggests that those in the millennial generation no longer see the need for a women’s movement and consider the movement a success. To better understand these views, I conducted a survey of undergraduate students at a small, liberal arts college in Central PA. The survey asked specifically about views on treatment of women in the criminal justice, views of women as criminal justice professionals, and views on violence against women. This presentation will discuss the findings of the survey, next steps in expanding the survey, and implications for the women’s movement.
