Developing Alternative Understandings of Justice and Security: Findings from a European FP7 Project

Abstract

ALTERNATIVE is the name of an EU funded research project covering 6 countries and which runs during a period of 4 years (2012-2016). The main goal of this project is to develop alternative understandings of justice and security, both in theory and practice, by applying participatory and restorative justice approaches in intercultural conflict settings (http://www.alternativeproject.eu). After the methodological set up of the project, the first findings will be discussed on the basis of action research in Austria, Hungary, Serbia and Northern Ireland.
