Developing Cooperative Partnerships among Agencies

Wed, Nov 19, 11:00am to 12:20pm, Marriott, Salon C1, B2 Level

Abstract

The CFE is a collaboration among academics, practitioners, and the State of Illinois. There are approximately 102 counties in Illinois, each with their own prosecutors office, and approximately 700 local police departments, in addition to numerous other agencies that are involved in investigating homicides and sex assaults. Illinois is home to the third largest city in the country as well as numerous suburban and rural places. In order to ensure the CFE both represents and benefits all residents of the state, a great deal of effort has gone into developing cooperative partnerships across geography and sectors. This presentation will cover the general process of developing collaborative relationships as well as the benefits of doing so.
