Hispanic youth in juvenile court

Abstract

The presentation will summarize analyses of data maintained by the National Juvenile Court Data Archive describing the characteristics of delinquency cases involving youth of Hispanic ethnicity. Data from juvenile courts located in a dozen states will be used to document trends and case processing differences between Hispanic and non-Hispanic youth at key stages of juvenile justice system, including manner of handling, detention, adjudication, and disposition.
