in this paper I revisit the main elements of left realist criminology and examine how this major shift in critical criminology relates to major contemporary issues in the study of crime and deviance. I argue that its relevance has increased with the social harm caused by neo-liberal policies and the extended reach of the powerful into all facets of private and public life.
