Communal Prisons in Latin America: What it Means for Us

Abstract

The poster presentation will illustrate my qualitative field research [participant observation & ethnographic interviews] conducted within a Southern Mexican prison. The uniqueness of the prison will be highlighted,such as the issue that wives and children reside within the male facility.
