This paper analyzes popular perceptions of women who remain overlooked in criminological research. Though they are garnering increased attention within the field, women who do not and are not identified as Black or White still receive little consideration in comparison. As follows, we must make greater efforts to especially consider the experiences of all women, from their various marginalized standpoints. I demonstrate how a Black Feminist Criminological examination – though originally established to investigate the lives of Black women – can provide a critical analysis of popular (mis)perceptions of Asian, Latina, and Indigenous women, and how these views can adversely affect criminal legal system processing for these women.
