Drug Treatment Completion and Black Women: An Examination of Treatment Setting and Referral Type as Measures of Success.

Thu, Nov 20, 2:00 to 3:20pm, Marriott, Foothill E, 2nd Floor

Abstract

The present study examines the influence of drug treatment referral source and type of drug treatment setting to predict drug treatment completion among black women. Using a national sample of black women who participated in the Treatment Episode Data Set-D (TEDS-D) study, this research describes the likelihood of treatment completion among black women. The findings indicate that both the treatment setting and the primary source of referral are important predictors of successful drug treatment completion. Alternative treatment settings for black women are discussed.
