Battling Hate Crime: An Examination of the Websites of Advocacy Groups. How are their Messages the Same? How are they Different?

Abstract

Advocacy organizations play an important role in supporting victims of hate crime and their respective communities. Hate crimes are motivated by bias and yet the means to counter the effects of these crimes are myriad. This study compares the nature of website content and respective philosophies of three major advocacy organizations and the manner in which they communicate with those who seek their services.
