This study will explore the relationship between the perceived sexuality of a person and the perceptions of that individual's criminality. The theoretical framework for this research project will include an examination of the differences between moral deviance and criminal deviance. Policy implications of this study may help to inform how those who identify as homosexual, bisexual, or transsexual are treated in the criminal justice system--from initial arrest to the final disposition of their case.
