This poster shows the emergence and development of the key components of research on victim and victimization. It does so by resorting to computer-based methods to analyze and visualize networks of scientific publications (10 000 articles). Using co-citation analysis, our results show the epistemic split between social research and clinical research. Using co-occurrence of key word analysis, we analyse the evolution of the field content between 1970 to 2013 (fear of crime, sexual abuse, school crime, violence against women, procedural justice etc.). We also observe the central role played by big instrument like “victimization survey” (BCS, NCVS or developmental victimization survey) in this domain, insofar as articles using big survey structure the dynamic of the research. To illustrate the poster, we use tools of visualization (clusters mapping, historical map etc.)
