Offender Reentry: A Survey of Interorganizational Commitment to Partnership

Thu, Nov 20, 6:00 to 8:00pm, Marriott, Golden Gate, B2 Level

Abstract

Offender reentry programs have developed a common theme of developing partnerships between correctional facilities and community-based organizations. The purpose of this study is to explore the interorganizational relationships (IORs) between jails and community-based organizations (CBOs) in three Central Florida counties. A survey of organizational informants is used to examine the associations between organizational motivations and cultures with relationship commitment. Findings will be presented, which have implications for understanding which CBOs are willing to partner with jails and why, as well as informing practicies of planning, developing, and sustaining IORs.
