Advancing Knowledge about Delinquency and Justice

Abstract
In this panel, key conclusions from the Pittsburgh Youth Study are reviewed, especially concerning violence and homicide. Then convictions and self-reports of offending are compared to advance knowledge about scaling-up factors. Then the effects of convictions on self-reported offending are reviewed. Finally, the conclusions of three study groups are summarized, on serious and violent juvenile offenders, child delinquents, and young adult offenders.
