Justice Involved Youth, Young Adults & Mental Health Issues

Abstract
Justice involved youth are characterized by multiple forms of familial, socio-emotional and academic disadvantage. Additionally, using the most conservative estimates, the prevalence of mental health disorders are significantly higher than community samples. This panel with examine research, policy and treatment questions related to the servicing and support of youth with mental health issues in the criminal justice system.
