Risk and needs assessment is considered a vital component of evidence-based practices. Yet, the risk and needs assessment is not without controversy, including difficulties in advancing the use of information in the tools. The papers will outline some of the challenges in moving ahead with the assessments, both in terms of the design and the practice related to assessments.
