Session Submission Type: Complete Thematic Panel
This panel explores the different methods that the criminal justice system uses to serve victims of crime. The first paper discusses barriers experienced by victims of crime when trying to get their legal needs met. The next two papers focus specifically on enhancing our understanding of criminal justice practices that are designed to help victims of sexual assault. First, models of coordinated community response are explored using a case study approach. The final paper builds upon these data to focus specifically on the role of Sexual Assault Response Teams (SART) in improving responses to victims.
