Session Submission Type: Complete Thematic Panel
From the Institutes of Medicine to the National Institute of Corrections, U.S. federal agencies have been grappling with issues of implementation science, translating research to policy, and effective dissemination of research findings. This panel explores these issues from the perspectives of criminal and juvenile justice funding agencies. The purpose of the panel is two-fold. The first is to present to the field the activities that the Office of Justice Programs, U.S. Department of Justice is conducting at the intersections of innovation, implementation, research and practice. The second purpose is to have a listening session and discussion with the field in order to solicit ideas on what the field perceives should be done by OJP in relation to these intersections. Dr. Nadine Frederique (NIJ), Dr. C. Edward Banks (BJA), Ms. Jennifer Tyson and Ms. Kristen Kracke (both of OJJDP) will present on the activities of their respective agencies. Mr. Eric Martin will facilitate a discussion with the audience on the potential next steps and future research in this area.
