Identifying and Understanding Overrepresentation of Minority Youth in the Juvenile Justice System: Initial Results from Ohio’s Disproportionate Minority Contact (DMC) Study

Abstract
This panel will consider preliminary findings from the Ohio Disproportionate Contact Study as they pertain to key questions in the area. These include understanding case outcomes for similarly-situated youth, perceptions of family and family risk as pertains to DMC, and police officer perceptions of DMC issues. Results from analysis of both quantitative and qualitative data will be presented and discussed. An discussant expert in the area will provide comments and questions on the work.
