Session Submission Type: Complete Thematic Panel
The current panel extends prior research on the genetic and biological influences on criminal behavior and its correlates. Much of what we know regarding these relationships come from general population samples and samples considered at low-risk for criminal involvement. Here we expand this research by using genetic data gathered from an incarcerated sample in addition to a sample of university students to further explore the relationship between genes, biology, and antisocial behavior. Our focus is on integrating the genetic and biological literature with traditional criminological perspectives on crime.
