Marijuana Laws: Legalizing a Crime

Abstract

More and more states are opting to legalize marijuana for either medical reasons or for recreation. These state laws are in direct violation of federal legislation that has categorized marijuana as a Schedule I drug that has no known medical purposes but a high potential for abuse. The participants ont this roundtable will discuss state marijuana laws, including how they came to be, their impact, and their future.
