Abstract

This panel will seek to represent the wide-ranging nature of today's cybercrime ecosystem by looking at botmasters, hackers, fraudsters and drug dealers. The first presentation will focus on the effectiveness of criminalization vs. regulation to secure the digital ecosystem. The second paper will analyze the new online illicit drug markets and demonstrate their business-to-business nature. The third paper will consider the relationship between feedback sellers of stolen data receive from customers and their impact on market dynamics. Finally, the fourth presentation will detail why passwords are the weakest links in current security chains and shed light on the various approaches to replace them.
