Session Submission Type: Complete Thematic Panel
This panel will address the key issues related to the intersection of practice and research, including issues that relate to identifying the most salient behavioral variables for distinguishing between crime scene sub-types; linking serial crimes and looking for consistency where there is none; forensic evidence in court and the CSI effect, and an examination of its existence and impact. The overarching theme of the panel is in understanding how to identify the key components for a reliable evidence-led practice, and to translate theory and research into practical applications in the criminal justice system.
