Researching Supermax and Long-Term Solitary Confinement

Abstract

Much has been written about the hot topic of 'supermax' in the last decade. In this roundtable, we are hoping to have both the presenters and the audience briefly discuss their prior or current research on supermax and long-term segregation. We will end the session with a discussion of the future directions that research on supermax and long-term segregation should take along with the challenges to conducting such research in prisons.
