Measuring Human Trafficking in the San Diego Border Region

Abstract

NIJ-funded researchers from Southern California discuss the complexities of measuring the nature and extent of sex and labor trafficking in San Diego/Tijuana, including the roles of gangs and organized crime. We'll discuss the challenges of studying hidden populations (both victims and perpetrators/facilitators) and invite audience participation to explore the strengths, limitations and possibilities of our mixed methods approaches.
