This study examines the effects of a variety of work-related attitudes and experiences on sheriffs' deputies organizational commitment during a period in which the organizations was moving toward a full, top-to-bottom commitment to community-oriented policing. The sheriffs' office examined is unique in that it is both a full-service sheriffs' department and located in a large metropolitan community.
