Recruiting Terrorists in the Arab World

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to investigate the new ideology employed by neo-terrorist structures in recruiting terrorists in the Arab World. This ideology is based on utilizing social media networks as a major tool for recruitment and solely targets extremist youths in different socio-economic conditions regardless of color, religion or race. These include, anti-social youths who suffer from self-estrangement, alienation, low self-esteem, or psychological disorders.
The Rational Choice Theory which addresses emergent social problems is the point of departure of this study.
