This research describes a collaborative partnership between the University of Baltimore and Alternative Directions, Inc. (ADI), a non-profit organization in Baltimore, MD. Through this partnership, an experiential learning program, titled Helping Others 2 Win (HO2W), has been designed for adult female offenders who have been referred to ADI from the Maryland Parole Commission. The primary goal of HO2W is to successfully improve outcomes in the areas of recidivism, education, decision-making, and civic engagement. Preliminary findings and policy implications will be discussed.
