Using Critical Reflection to Address LGBTQ Themes in CCJ Courses

Thu, Nov 17, 5:00 to 6:20pm, Hilton, Newberry, 3rd Level

Abstract

The experiences of LGBTQ populations are rarely explored within criminology and criminal justice classrooms, particularly at the undergraduate level. This discussant will advocate not only for the inclusion of this material, but for the use of critical reflection in written assignments and class discussions, which help students connect real-world applications to CCJ issues concerning LGBTQ people.
