Effects of Work Environment Variables on Nigerian Correctional Staff

Abstract

Staff are the most important resource for correctional facilities. There is a growing body of research that has explored how the work environment affects staff; however, the bulk of this research has focused on staff in Western nations, particularly the United States. The current study examined the effects of various work environment variables on Nigerian correctional staff. Nigeria is the most populous country in Africa and the seventh most populous country in the world.
