Victim Precipitation and Internet Crimes Against Children

Thu, Nov 17, 12:30 to 1:50pm, Hilton, Jackson, 3rd Level

Abstract

In the late 19650s Marvin Wolfgang identified a gendered pattern of victimization precipitation in intimate-partner homicides. In the late 1980s, Richard Rosenfeld continued to support this pattern in examining all homicides committed by men and women. This research attempts to expand the research in gendered patterns of victimization precipitation in today’s Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC). Specifically, by utilizing case files on ICAC provided by the Southern Virginia Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, victim precipitation is explored as related to ICAC.
