Complaints of Police Misconduct

• In Event: NIJ Project on Police Use of Force Polices and Outcomes: Getting Bang for the Buck

Abstract

Using data from the Assessing Police Use of Force Policy and Outcomes project, a multi-agency study involving eight police departments, the current study examines complaints against police officers. More directly, we assess the nature of various complaint types in order to determine varying complaint characteristics. Discussion of the findings in relation to relevant policy implications are discussed.
