Abstract

Staff are a very valuable resource for correctional facilities. They are responsible for a myriad of tasks necessary for a safe, secure, and humane facility. Because it has important implications, understanding the correlates of job stress for staff is important. Most of the research to date on the correlates of stress have focused on staff from facilities in states with some degree of financial resources. The current study examined the correlates of job stress among staff at the largest prison in a Southern state with very limited financial means.
