Identifying factors that promote student engagement has become a priority at many institutions of higher learning. The purpose of this presentation is to describe research that has been conducted on the link between short-term criminology study abroad courses and student engagement. Students enrolled in study abroad coursework were pre and post tested with a modified version of the National Survey of Student Engagement (NSSE). Findings and recommendations for study abroad programming will be discussed.
