Comparative Study of Juvenile Repeat Bully Victimizations in South Korea and U.S.: A Longitudianal Study

Abstract

Since 1990s, the phenomenon of repeat victimization has gained growing attention in criminological studies, and previous studies have focused on victims’ risk factors such as individual heterogeneity and event dependence as the reasons of this phenomenon. Recently, however, several studies have presented additional causes of this phenomenon such as interactions with offenders and contextual situations. Yet, few studies have empirically tested these new arguments. This proposed study aims to fill this vacancy by analyzing the temporal patterns and determinants of school bully victimizations in South Korea and U.S.
