This paper reports on results from the Victorian Farm Crime project, an ongoing endeav0r focusing on property theft from farms in Victoria, Australia. The paper draws upon interviews with rural police members and survey data obtained from farmers, and considers various situational crime prevention techniques which could be implemented by farming communities. Importantly, consideration is also made of various practical measures which could be implemented by Victoria Police to better address farm crime offending rates, and to encourage greater crime reporting by bridging gaps between police and farm communities.
