Fear of School Victimization: A Social Capital Perspective

Abstract

The current study addresses the influence of social capital on fear of school victimization. Coleman’s (1988) concept of social capital is applied by examining different types of school involvement. In addition, males and females are compared to understand whether gender plays a significant role in relation to social capital and fear of school victimization. Prevention strategies and policy implications are also discussed.
