State Politics and State Safeguards Against Wrongful Convictions

Wed, Nov 16, 12:30 to 1:50pm, Hilton, Grand Salon 18, 1st Level

Abstract

States do vary in the kinds and levels of safeguards against wrongful conviction they have established, and in a recent article concerning wrongful conviction research, the authors suggested the examination of causes of variation would be a fruitful area of study. There is a significant literature in political science that explores correlates of various types of policies. This paper will draw on that literature to examine possible correlates of wrongful conviction policy.
