A growing body of research has been directed toward understanding the causes and correlates of prison inmate victimization, whereas few researchers have examined the influences of victimization among jail inmates. Drawing from lifestyle/opportunity perspectives, we use data from the most recent Survey of Inmates in Local Jails to examine the individual- and facility-level predictors of violent victimization during jail incarceration.
