POST Agency Certification Practices, 2015

• In Event: Policy Panel: Officer Decertification in the United States: Directions, Challenges and Opportunities

Abstract

This presentation will report results of a survey of state Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) agencies with regard to their current certification policies and practices, the numbers of decertified officers and reasons for decertification during calendar year 2015, their participation in the National Decertification Index (NDI), and POST Director opinions regarding the effectiveness of decertification processes as well as the need for universal participation in the NDI.
