Congress has not passed significant criminal justice reform legislation since 2010, when it reduced the disparity between crack and powder cocaine penalties through the Fair Sentencing Act. With a new president and a new Congress preparing to take office, this presentation will examine the prospects for—and nature of—legislative and executive-branch reforms to the federal prison system.
