Abstract

Badass is the incredible and fascinating story of a genuine "O.G."--an "original guard" who grew up inside the walls of San Quentin prison during the time it "made its bones" as a hard-core maximum-security prison. Through decades of drug and gang wars, executions, corruption, and prison-yard murders, he never lost his sense of humor--or his humanity. Few survived to tell their story, and fewer, still, are willing to do so.
